Lothar Kettern, Fio 2022 "Jo Jo" Orange Wine
The restlessly-creative Philipp wanted to make something special from his three-hectare holding (75% of the whole) in the Freudenberg, a relatively cool site below the forest-line at the top of the Goldtröpfchen. Fermented naturally in both steel and traditional Mosel Füders, and given a full year on the lees, this is an electric wine, harmoniously integrating its Piesport fruit with the skin-fermentation influences, which include an unmistakable lashing of tannin. This is Mosel seen through a different lens!
