Herdade do Mouchão 2013 Mouchão Tonel 3-4
We have waited until now to import this monumental wine, which ranks with Barca Velha as the most sought- after in Portugal. The apotheosis of Alicante Bouschet, it represents the best selection of the estate’s grapes, and is aged for four years in the eponymous Brazilian mahogany “tonels” numbers 3 and 4 that date back to the 19th century. It is offered only in the finest vintages and stands with the world’s greatest red wines built for long aging. Equal parts sumptuous and structured, it is worth every cent of its price.

Notes from the Producer: The complex spices and minty freshness found in this wine continue to surprise even us, given the extreme temperatures recorded Intense Granada color, aromas of black fruit, Chinese ink, pencil, black olive, mint and spices. Its structured and exuberant tannins guarantee a unique longevity Despite its enormous guard potential, this is a wine that is drunk deliciously after its launch on the market. Like the Mouchão, the Tonel Nº 3 4 is emblematic of what Alicante Bouschet can achieve in the perfect conditions in the Herdade do Mouchão.
