Herdade do Mouchão 2022 Dom Rafael Tinto
There is a seriousness one sees in all their reds, a refusal to opt for the simple and fruity, that comes out even in this entry level offering. Dark, ripe, and a little brooding, with a firm texture of fine grained tannins that provide presence and freshness, this foot trodden wine brings complexity without heaviness.

Notes from the Producer: Youthful but with hints of mature, dark, plummier tones. Mild dark chocolate with spicy peppermint undertones; complex fattiness from limited aging in new and used wood. This Dom Rafael is soft, delicately fruity, lightly textured, fresh and shows a wonderfully persistent finish. Delicious with most meats, especially veal and lamb, but also with Portugal’s famed bacalhau.
