Schloss Ortenberg 2021 Spaetburgunder "Granit"
We just missed getting the justly-hailed 2020 vintage but, in recompense, were rewarded with this nuanced, cooler wine that demonstrates again that the greatest pleasures often come in quieter forms. This is a thinking person’s Pinot Noir, smoky-noised and taut, with a lovely inner sweetness.

Notes from the Producer: This Pinot Noir is made from a Burgundian Pinot clone 777 which gives the wine its spicy charactaristic. The maturation in oak barrels plays a supporting role in the structure of the wine but does not overpower the fruit.
