Dom. du Petit Bondieu 2017 Bourgueil "Les Couplets"
From a parcel of 90 year-old vines, this wine inhabits a rarified level shared only with the most elevated red Loires. The mark of such great Cabernets Francs is to transcend the variety, by drawing on the depths of material available to such venerable and deeply-rooted vines. Aromatically, it is in an ethereal world, closer to St. Emilion than Chinon. While the palate poises concentration and lift in a silky texture that brims with salt. There is true grandeur here.

Notes from the Producer: On the top of the slope, there is the best thickness of clay for an easy to drink wine, and a deep limestone for a beautiful wine strucutre. This cuvee is made with very old vines (90 years old), with a very little yield, and an amazing density. It's aging in 12 months in wood barrels and 6 months in concrete tanks, to grow up silky tanins. The great maturity offers black fruits and spicy aroms. This wine is already pleasant to drink and can also be kept for ten years.
