Vignobles Bardet 2007 Ch. Lideyre

Nothing warms the cockles of our hearts like a well-aged Bordeaux from a top vintage at a bargain price. Our inaugural library importation of the 2003 vintage was a smash success. 2007 is, despite it being a vintage with different attractions than that barrel-chested year, cut from the same cloth : relatively unevolved colour, plummy Merlot fruit with deep iron tones, and that tell-tale salty lick in the tail that bespeaks an authentic old-school Bordeaux. A lovely bottle of middle-aged wine at a bargain price. It is this, the home property of the Bardet family, that is Philippe’s favorite, despite its supposedly lesser status.
