Dom. du Banneret 2023 Châteauneuf du Pape MAGNUMS
There is no more conscientious producer in the WineWise portfolio than Audrey Vidal. We remember her apologizing for the pale colour of her 2018 vintage (voted No. 2 among ALL Châteauneuf du Pape wines in the Revue des Vins Français). And she insisted on our tasting this new vintage before shipping it to us, even though she has not put a foot wrong since taking the domaine over. Suffice it to say that this is poem of expressive Châteauneuf style, a kind of wine that has become almost extinct. Our 50 CASE allocation (10% of the estate’s production!) will not last long.

Notes from the Producer: Spring 2023 was exceptionally intense, requiring our constant presence throughout the vineyards. I still carry the image of those misty mornings where the vines seemed to be challenging us. This wine embodies that resilience: it was born from a struggle against the elements, ultimately revealing a surprising finesse and a delicacy that is almost ethereal.
