Singer Estate 2021 Syrah
“La Syrah”, the French call it. There is sometimes a cognitive dissonance in ascribing “feminine” characteristics to this dark-coloured, often brooding grape. But when it is as sheerly beautiful scented and silkily refined as this glowing wine, one can easily accept the ascription. Quite simply, what we have here is world-class Syrah that easily holds it own with France’s best examples, promising long life ahead. 270 6-packs and 30 magnums produced.

Notes from the Producer: After an impressively robust yield in 2018, the 2019 growing campaign led to a smaller than average yield from our Estate vineyard of uncommonly intense and perfectly mature grapes. The resulting wine shows all of the characteristic spice and dark fruit notes that have always distinguished the Estate Syrah albeit with a marked extra measure of aromatic heft, fruit depth, and beautifully integrated structure. Think violets, oriental spice, dark berries and cassis, all kissed by a whisper of smoke.
