It is truly gratifying to reflect that the market recognises Baga as a major grape so that we are now able to offer, when available, four expressions of it from this house (together with several from Quinta das Bageiras) without saturating it! From their most prized parcels in the home commune of Ois do Bairro, this is a sanguine, coiled and febrile wine with all the potential of a top burgundy.

The different small plots for this wine come from 3 centenary Baga vineyards (100-140 years old) with a very strong Atlantic influence (only 15 km from the ocean). We bought these vineyards a few years ago, and they are now fully biodynamic. They benefit from the
rising sun on mid-slope hills with soil composed of Lower Jurassic limestone. The soil has superb clays on the inner surface, and the higher part is much whiter and marl-rich, which slows down the vegetative cycle. This gives the wine a unique and exceptional balance!
