Dom. Fouet 2024 Saumur Champigny "Buvons des Fruits"
Julien is proudest of his red wines. And this is his latest assured essay at a “Natural” wine – six days of carbonic maceration, unfined, unfiltered and unsulfured. To describe it as “delicious” is to understate the indecently charming beauty of its varietal character. “Let us drink Fruits” is how the name translates – a little ponderous, perhaps, but entirely apt to the simple ambition of the wine. It has developed a devoted following in short order.

Notes from the Producer: Located in the wine-growing village of Saint Cyr en Bourg,
Domaine Fouet has been perpetuating the family tradition for six generations. In the heart of the Saumur Champigny appellation, Julien Fouet now manages a 23-hectare vineyard, combining modern techniques with respect for tradition.
We have been certified organic since 2020 (Ecocert organic label).
With a commitment to respecting the environment, the Domaine's vines are cultivated organically. In fact, the estate has been certified organic (AB label) since 2020.
We also practice eco-grazing: about fifteen sheep graze on some of our plots at certain times. They maintain the vines, reduce the need for mechanical weeding, and contribute to biodiversity.
To increase biodiversity, we are implementing agroforestry, or viticulturalism. The integration of trees and agriculture offers considerable advantages, particularly in the vineyard. "Soil protection is a priority. At Domaine Fouet, we've planted apple trees in our vineyards to make organic cider, but you'll have to wait a while before you can taste it!"
