LaFou Celler is Ramon’s passion project, borne of a love acquired for Grenache (white and black) while studying in France and a conviction that Terra Alta, a less-known region west of Barcelona, offers unique possibilities for this fashionable grape. He has been fully vindicated by this ineffably scented and stylish wine, which uncannily evokes the Rhône, not least in the insinuating way that the minority Syrah perfumes the cuvée, without detracting from Garnacha’s silky charms. Ramon is intent on resurrecting the local Morenillo variety, which also contributes an attractive sanguine note.
