Vasco sought out a number of cuttings of the almost extinct Alvarelhão to ensure genetic diversity for his new plantings. Vaguely reminiscent in its pale appearance of Trousseau, the explosive nose seems like a cross between Syrah and Nebbiolo. The slender frame hides depths of flavour, both fruity and mineral, which are enhanced by the eschewal of filtration. This is really an original and exceptionally interesting wine.
