R. Renaudin 2009 "L'Espiègle" Brut Blanc de Blancs 1er Cru
It is always hard to follow an acclaimed vintage like 2008, but Renaudin’s 2009 is no slouch, and is arguably a better drink at this stage. In our recent visit to Champagne, we met more than one producer who dared to opine that they preferred 2009 to its famed predecessor. Wines like this provide strong ammunition for that line!

Notes from the Producer: The specificity and the quality of our champagne begins from a qualitative approach in the vinyards. It is the terroir that expresses the specificity and the particularity by combining different elements like climate, exposition, geographical localisation and human factors. The vineyard is managed by combining the qualitative work of the soil and permanent grassing. We apply the plant protection products for the protection of the vines at low dose, only if it is necessary with a reasoned approach and sustainable approach. Golden and bright robe accompanied by floral, nutty and smoked aromas. The elegant and fine bubbles mark this vintage on the beauty side. There is a lively attack on the palate, with a certain complexity of citrus flavors, oak, brioche and chestnut followed by freshness and a long finish.
