Heitlinger 2020 Auxerrois (Baden)
Hiding under the strikingly modern, geometrical label lurks a lyrically beautiful wine, with a ravishing orange blossom nose and a tender, dry and long palate. 80% of all the Auxerrois in Germany is planted in the Kraichgau. When done like this, it seems more relaxed and searching than its cousin Pinot Blanc. The word “delicious” might have been invented to describe this beauty. Just 11.5% in this dainty vintage.

Notes from the Producer: The grapes are gently harvested by hand, carefully sorted, and slowly pressed after about 24 hours of skin contact. They are grown in colored marl soils that are partially covered by a top layer of loess. The wine is soft and rich in substance, with aromas of pear, red apple, and white currant. It is a mild, ripe white wine.
