Bercher 2018 Spätburgunder Burkheimer
From the pure volcanic soil of the famed Feuerberg, this is a serious and focused Pinot of uncompromising quality. Wines like this make the strongest imaginable case for Baden as an unrivalled source of top-quality but modestly-priced Pinot Noir. 2018 was warmer than 2017, but both wines are proportionate and firmly shaped.

Notes from the Producer: A fruit-driven Spätburgunder from volcanic soil in Burkheim, fermented on the skins for 2 weeks and aged for 1 year in the traditional oak-cask of the Kaiserstuhl region. Young, yet silky tannic structure, Aromas of sour-cheries and rosehip with slightly flinty qualities.
