Frontonio 2021 Psicodelico Mezcla (Valdejalon)
This fascinating wine is a counterpart to the Palhete wines we offer from Madeira and Aphros in Portugal in that it is a co-fermentation of 70% white grapes (Albariño, Robal, Macabeo) and 30% black (Garnacha and Provechón aka Bobal). The resulting wine, foot-trodden in concrete but aged in old barrels) is a sinuously smoky riff on the familiar Frontonio theme of light-footed, transparent and honest-to-goodness wines.
