Primitivo Collantes

The Jerez sub-district of Chiclana de la Frontera has in recent years achieved growing recognition for the excellence of its wines, not least because of the pioneering efforts of Primitivo (or Primi, as he is known) Collantes, fourth-generation proprietor of this estate, which owns 46 hectares of vineyards – a huge hoilding by local standards. Primi makes not only an outstanding range of sherries, but has single-handedly pushed the notion of non-oxidative, single-vineyard wines. It is one of these with which we start our representation of an exciting and original force in Atlantic Spain. His farming practices are certified organic.
